You must pass the IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) in order to be admitted to IITs for an M.Sc in Physics. IITs normally require applicants to obtain a Bachelors degree with physics as a major in order to be eligible. Your pursuit of a B.Sc in Physics with Chemistry and Botany at IGNOU qualifies you for general education requirements. Check to see if your IGNOU degree particularly with regard to curricular content, satisfies IIT's particular qualifying standards.

Physics, chemistry and mathematics are the disciplines that the IIT JAM exam evaluates, thus you should study for these as well.?

For IITs, there is no home state quota, and admission is solely based on the All India Rank (AIR) in the JEE Advanced exam. You cannot apply for IITs through the Delhi state quota, as they do not have such a category.

For NITs, however, the home state quota applies. You must have completed your schooling (typically up to 12th grade) in the same state as the NIT to be eligible. In your case, if you are a Delhi resident and have completed schooling there, you would be considered for the home state quota at NIT Delhi and other NITs in Delhi

If you match the qualifying requirements, you can take the JEE Mains in 2026 after finishing your NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) exams. Your eligibility won't be impacted by the difference between your Class 10 and Class 12 grades as long you meet these requirements

Subject Requirements: Since physics, chemistry and mathematics are required for JEE make sure they are covered in your NIOS curriculum.

Any B.Tech from any reputed institution can apply by meeting the eligibility criteria, whether it is having some required percentage in undergraduate degree or something else. For M.Tech admission, IITs verify the GATE score-counseling process afterwards. Hence, there is no restriction on your B.Tech completion eithe
