IIITDM Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2007. The institute is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Also, MHRD recognised IIITDM Kancheepuram as an “Institute of National Importance”.

For female candidates belonging to the General category under All India quota, 70117 was the closing rank.
