Yes, you can easily do IT course. For that, if you are having maths or computer subject as optional subject in your 12th, you can easily do BCA & MCA .
And, if you haven't taken neither maths nor computer as a optional subject, you can do DCA (Diploma in computer applications).
For DCA course, your 10th marks will be taken into consideration.

Both IT and CSE are good. Its up to you to decide which subject you want to pursue, based on your interests.
IT is more of a Professional track course. You are taught about systems and their functioning on a need to know basis. You are taught regarding the basic applications of a technology. It makes you an expert at the surface level of the tech, which will aide you to develop skills required at the industrial level. A good example would be a Network Administrator. You need to know about Networking and some basic hardware and software rules. IT can teach you what you need to know about their functionalities.

M.Sc IT offered by various universities is equivalent to B.Tech IT. This course is designed for B.Sc students to become an IT graduate. B.Tech IT grads are first preference of IT over M.Sc IT grads. You are advised to aim for higher studies and opt for M.Tech IT by appearing in GATE examination.
