JEE Advanced will be held for 6 hours in total. There are 2 paper in the exam and each paper is of 3 hours duration. This makes the total time of the exam as 6 hours. The exam pattern varies each year. There are 2 papers in the exam. Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced will comprise three separate sections wherein questions will be asked from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. There will be negative marking for answering any question incorrectly in the exam.

JEE Advanced 2026 result will be out in June 2026.
Candidates can check and download the JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard under their respective login on jeeadv. ac. in. To Download JEE Advanced 2026 scorecard, candidates have to use 7-digit roll number, date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, and the 10-digit phone number that they used while registering for JEE (Advanced).
Also, category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the JEE Advanced 2026 online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.

JEE Advanced counselling is called JoSAA. JoSAA 2026 will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JoSAA 2026 counselling will start in June 2026.
There will be 6 rounds of seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted seats in each round of JoSAA 2026 Counselling will be required to choose the options from Freeze, Float or Slide. Candidates who opt Freeze option will be required to complete the reporting process by the prescribed deadline.
