1. Gather proper material for your preparation: Go online and order JEE Mains material' from career Point Institute, then do order for JEE Advanced material from Allen Coaching. Buy the material only for current courses.
2. Now, how to study those courses? If you are in high school then study whole one chapter from your textbook then go through the objective questions of JEE Mains after solving JEE Mains questions, go for advance questions from JEE Advanced (Allen). Out of the 300 seats, 150 seats are allocated through the state counselling process called ACPC and rest through All India Quota and NRI quota (~ 5%) for which a rank list is prepared based on the JEE Mains rank list which according to past trends lies around 15000.

Its too early to predict the exact cutoff of JEE Mains, cut-off depends on the level of the questions, however as per the recent trends cut-off seems to vary between 90-100.
