The syllabus is a complete set to get a 270+ marks. You can't escape anything, but yes you can give preferences to the topics, which you think you are comfortable with. Check weightage of every topic. And, try to change your plan after analysing yourself. Your presence of mind and your strategy is most important weapon in this exam and will take you too the result which you want. At last, I will suggest you study every topic and make your basics strong. Best of luck.

SRM is one of the top private universities of our country and the placements are really good and many MNCs like Accenture, CTS, Amazon, etc. come for recruitment. SRM University has its own exam called SRM JEE for admission into undergraduate programs. Your rank should be below 5000 to get CSE at the main campus of SRM University.

There is no branch-wise cut-off. All the candidates can attend the counseling. In such counseling, where a candidate has to be physically present, sometimes many top rankers do not turn up. Some others are interested in a particular branch and the moment the seats of that branch are filled up, they leave. If you have a high score you stand a good chance to get a seat. If your rank is lower than that, you can still hope to get a seat. For this purpose you can apply for the waiting list by filling up the form and depositing Rs.1,00000/- by bank draft. As and when a seat falls vacant, this will be filled up from the waiting list.

In first year, you will go through laplace transform, matrix, differential equation and so on. As far as computing is concerned, you will go through basic C or C+ programming. If you already have great command on these topics mentioned above you will attain slight edge among your peers.

See, you can go through the counselling there. You can get any GFTI and then you can apply for the state universities as going to the GFTIs is far better than going to any state governed colleges.
