I will suggest you to join test series of any renowned coaching institute and follow the syllabus regarding every test you will be giving, I will personally suggest you to join the test series of Allen as it's test series starts very early and is taken in a very qualitative manner according to the syllabus and if you will follow even 50% to 70%, by the time of your Mains exam you will be done with your syllabus and will have a good time for revision and practice which will definitely help you in your exams.

Go with the previous college as JEE exam is to be given with either 12th or just after 12th. You are given only two attempts in this exam, of you are from general category. Other category candidates are given more chances. If you have a chance to give the exam again, then do so. If not, then it's better to go with the one you are getting for now.

Hi,
Your 10+2 score is very good but JEE Main score is very low. So, you didn't get any government college but you have good chance to admission many deemed private college like VIT, SRM etc.

In Anna university counselling, they will consider only intermediate percentage but not JEE mains score. But your intermediate percentage is too low for getting into Madras Institute of Technology, so try some other college.
