Hello Saurabh,
I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about predicting the probable college in which your brother can get admission based on his percentile score in the JEE Mains conducted by NTA in January this year. However, be advised that NTA is going to conduct one more examination and then only they will declare a combined merit list which will be final for the admission process. https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictorBest wishes to you your brother.

This is to enable students who are seeking admission to give a better perspective and also to give one more chance if by some fluke they are not able to appear for the single exam. Minimum marks vary every year like below:
2018 -approximately 375
2017- 366
2016- 372
2015 - 504
2014 - 360
So, it is difficult to predict marks as exam pattern and marks change every year but you should score more than 50% marks to get good branch in Top IITs.
According, to 2018cut off you must have secure more than 155 marks to get into IITs.

Dear Athirathinam,
Although exam might be conducted on different dates with different questions, there will be no change in case of ranking. Ranking only depends on how many marks you have score in your exam.
