In most of the schools, syllabus is completed in the month of December. He should give the JEE in month of December as he will get the idea of the level of paper. If he don't perform well In the January Exam, then he can prepare well for the April Exam of JEE and he will also get a second chance to perform well in the same year. Best of Luck to Your son for JEE.

Yes you need to score good since seats filed quickly in CSE and cutoff also goes high for CSE. Try for the TOP IIT like IIT BOMBAY IIT DELHI etc. If you score around 220 then you can easily get the IIIT through JEE Main ONLY no need to go for JEE advance. If you score good in JEE advance too then you will definitely get the IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee etc. Talking about the private University then try for GALGOTIA, LPU, UPES, SRM and Amity
best of luck
hope your query is resolved

Hello!
It basically depends upon you category. If you are from general category and Delhi resident, then a rank about 1 lakh will get you a branch at least in DTU. Moreover, you should qualify JEE Mains for branch of your choice.
