It is good to take classes for JEE instead of joining B.Tech, just because you can only focus on your exam preparation only. While in B.Tech, you have to take care of your academics records, exams assignments etc. So, join institute and score good to get into IIT. Regards.

Yes, you may apply for some private colleges in your state. Don't you worry about your 12th score. You may get good private colleges with this percentage also.
