First of all, you need to complete your boards syllabus 100% from the NCERT. It would take about an year to do that. Once you are done with it then have a brief revision once. Start giving full test and meanwhile start studying for the portions of JEE Mains that are not included in NCERT. With every test that u give, you will be able to know your weak points and strong points. You won't be able to solve all test questions during the 3 hours but after that remember to solve all those left over questions properly. Never leave or skip any question unsolved after the test. Kindly check the previous year cutoff for the NIT colleges. Moreover, I would suggest you to check the cutoff for NIT-Calicul, NIT-Kurukshetra and NIT- Durgapur. Best of luck.

Best NIT you can get is MVNIT, Jaipur, Nagpur NIT, and below and non-core branches in NIT Surathakal. Moreover, don't go for college names, prefer good streams over them.

Not into a good NIT or any of the IIIT's. Try the state government or autonomous colleges that will help as by putting home state quota can give you much preference. Best of luck.

You are likely to get NIT, but with average rank, LMNIIT with a decent branch, though don't go with NIT less than 15th position among them. Moreover, shortlist the colleges according to their last year cutoff.
