The candidates who want to take admission into IITs, NITs and other national institutes for engineering courses, need to clear the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced exam.
The JEE Mains exam for 2018 will be conducted on 8th of April in offline mode while the online JEE exam will be conducted on 15th & 16th April 2018. The JEE Mains online paper will be of three hours. There will be negative marking of 1 mark

Yes, you can get a good college because now colleges offer admissions only on the basis of JEE score or any other competitive exam. And the percentage of class 12th has a very little effect. So, do good in JEE. It will surely get you in a good college.

Admission is through counseling conducted by Admission Committee for Professional Courses based on the rank obtained in JEE Mains or Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET).

Hello Umang, It's nice to know your desire of pursuing B.Tech but why are you afraid of JEE Mains. The issue is, in today's world admissions to engineering colleges are almost entirely via some or the other entrance exam. Perhaps Tamil Nadu is the only major state that has declared that this year admissions to engineering colleges will be based on marks obtained in 12th. I am afraid, the path for admission in an engineering college is only via an entrance exam.
