Hello Abhishek,
Normally, I have not heard of geological engineer. I have friends who have done B.Sc in Geology. JEE Mains is only for those who want to do Engineering. However now a days courses are offered in earstwhile ISM, that give you degree in engineering. Hence, you have to clear JEE Mains to get admission there.

Marks in boards doesn't aren't going to affect your rank from this year. And, if you've got 196, your rank is under 13k you will get any good NITs.

Hello Prashant,
It's very difficult to say which institute is better than the other. Allen, Fitjee, Resonance, edu. list is endless. My advice would be to take admission in any coaching class that is nearest to your home. This will save a lot of your time. The thing to learn from them is the short cuts in answering questions.
Thanks!

Hello Ayushman,
Firstly, start thinking that you can do it. Nothing in this world is impossible. Tips for preparing are:
Study all subjects every day.
Assign time for exercise, pranayama and entertainment.
Take the mock test every week.
Address weak areas emerging out of mock test results analysis. Once you do this, success will be yours.
Best wishes.
