It depends on you. If you are interested to solve MCQs on a computer screen, then you can go for online, or else offline. There's nothing to worry about the mode of exam.

You need not to score good marks in JEE Advanced to get admission into NITs. The admission in NITs are based on JEE Mains score and board percentage.

The best material is your NCERT text book and example book. You can choose many authors books for PCM on internet. You can start to solve JEE previous years papers and mock test to get good scores in JEE Mains exam.
