The percentage of class 12th is considered in JEE ranks now. The overall ranking is calculated on the basis of number of marks obtained in JEE exams, class 10th and 12th. You need to score 75% in class 12th to be eligible to JEE Mains.

Hello,
I would suggest you to appear for AIEEE. This entrance examination also provide admission to government colleges, which are cost-effective.
I would also suggest you to appear for individual state examinations (OJEE in Odisha, EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, COMEDK in Karnataka, etc.). These exams also guarantee you good colleges and serve as a backup, in case things don't end up the way you've planned for IIT/ AIEEE.
Every state has its own share of good engineering colleges. So, don't underestimate or overlook them. They can prove to be vital. The more the entrance examinations you appear for, the more the options you will hav

Actually, there are no dis-advantages. It's simply that till now, you are accustomed to pen & paper and suddenly online. Going forward, more & more exams are likely to be conducted online only.

R.D.Sharma is a good book to clear basic concepts. If you want to improvise on it and try some challenging problems then go for M.L.Khanna.

Keep your basics clear. Revise the concepts again and again, especially the formulas in Maths and Chemistry. Try to solve the previous years papers or papers available from coaching institutes.

JEE Mains will allow you to take admission in state government colleges and NITs. For IITs, you need to crack JEE advance. You need to score above 180 marks in JEE Advance for IIT – Kharagpur, if you belong to SC category.
