Yes, certainly. I would be in the favor of decision. Though, you need to keep this in mind for sure that you got to prepare well for the JEE besides your ongoing college academics. If you think you can manage those, and prepare for the JEE too, then go for it.
There are far better institutions (government), that you can try getting into, with a better JEE score, compared to your current institute.

You can appear for JEE exam and get a good rank. You can also fill a separate application form for IISER, which will be advertised in every national newspaper. You can get the counselling information from the college website.

You can evaluate doing B.Tech in aeronautical engineering from Manipal University or Amity University. These universities have their own engineering entrance examination for admission in engineering degree courses.

Hello Satyam,
It is recommended that you join an engineering coaching institute as it increases the probability of qualifying the entrance examination. These institutions provide a proper guidance to the student. They also take periodic tests for the student to assess his strong and weak zones and the student can focus more on his weak zones.
Though it isn't mandatory to join those institutes and there are many students who have qualified even without joining any engineering coaching institute, I firmly believe that joining those institutes is recommended.
