Yes, if you want admission in 5 years course, there are many exams other than CLAT. Many universities are conducting their own entrance tests and some other universities take admission via state CET. It depends on you that in which university or college, you want to take admission.

On campus placement is only available in Indian universities. MIT has career assistance cell which helps students network with potential employers, they organize career fairs, etc. but not placement. As an international student you can work under OPT rule for 3 years. After OPT either you have to come back or you may be hired by the employer. In this case employer has to sponsor the H1B visa which is the biggest problem. You can google about H1B and OPT.
