AP LAWCET 2022 - The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has shared schedule AP LAWCET 2022 counselling web-option entry for round 2 on January 19, 2023. As per the schedule, AP LAWCET 2022 counselling round 2 will be held from January 20 to 31, 2023. The round 1 counselling and seat allotment list was published on January 2, 2023. Candidates could complete admission formalities like payment of fees against AP LAWCET 2022 seat allotment on the official website - cets.apsche.ap.gov.in. Only candidates who have secured a rank in AP LAWCET 2022 merit list can participate in the counselling process. AP LAWCET 2022 counselling process is being held in online mode, for admission to 3-year and 5-year LLB courses offered at the AP state law colleges. What is AP LAWCET?

Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test (APLAWCET) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admissions to law courses offered at Andhra Pradesh Universities and their affiliated colleges. The exam is conducted in the Computer-Based Test mode for a duration of 90 minutes and the test language is English and Telugu for both five-year LLB and three-year LLB courses. 

AP LAWCET 2022 is generally conducted from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. The mode of examination for AP LAWCET 2022 is Computer-based test mode. The AP LAWCET 2022 question paper will include 120 objective-type questions from three sections - GK and Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for the study of Law.

AP LAWCET Counselling 2022

The counseling process of AP LAWCET 2022 is being conducted in a web-based (online) mode for candidates who have qualified in the state-level exam. To participate in the counseling process, eligible candidates need to get registered and upload essential documents. The admission committee will then verify the documents and information entered at the time of filling the AP LAWCET application form. Those who successfully complete the verification process will next have to participate in the web-entry process, wherein the candidates have to select their choice of colleges in the order of priority.

The AP LAWCET 2022 seat allotment will be done on following parameters:

  • The merit rank of the candidate in AP LAWCET 2022
  • The college option entered at the time of web-option filling.

 Post the allotment of seats, the candidate will have to report to the allotted college and confirm their admission.

AP LAWCET Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates seeking admissions to law courses on the basis of AP LAWCET exam need to fulfil the eligibility criteria as under: 

AP LAWCET Eligibility for Five-year Integrated LLB course:

  • Candidates should have completed their two-year Intermediate examination/ Class 12th or equivalent from a recognised university or Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh
  • They should have secured at least 45% marks in Class 12th examination.
  • Those belonging to the BC category need to have at least 42% marks and those belonging to SC/ ST category need to have at least 40% marks in the qualifying exam.

AP LAWCET Eligibility for the three-year LLB course:

  • Candidates should have completed their graduation or postgraduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates are 45%, for BC category are 42% marks and for SC/ ST category candidates, the qualifying marks are 40%.

AP LAWCET Application Form 2022 

APSCHE released the online application form of AP LAWCET 2022 on May 13. The AP LAWCET 2022 application form was for admission to the 3-year and 5-year LLB courses offered by participating law colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Note that those seeking admission to the LLM program need to fill out the AP PGLCET 2022 application form.

Steps to fill the AP LAWCET 2022 application form

  1. Registration and payment of application fee - The candidate will have to enter details like name, qualifying exam hall ticket number, mobile number, email id, and date of birth. Then select the stream and pay the application fee. 
  2. Fill out the form - After fee payment is done successfully, the candidate can proceed to fill in the rest of the application form - personal, academic, and contact details. Also, select a test center.
  3. Upload documents - The candidate will have to upload a photograph and signature in JPG format.

AP LAWCET 2022 Admission Process

The entire admission process of AP LAWCET 2022 is as under:

Step 1: AP LAWCET Registration

The application form of  AP LAWCET is available on the official website of APSCHE in online mode. Candidates first need to pay the application and then fill the application form with their personal and academic details. The application fee to be paid for APLAWCET for each category is as under:

Step 2: Download Admit Card

After successful application, candidates will be issued admit card for appearing for the exam. The AP LAWCET hall ticket/admit card mentions details related to the allotted test centre, exam date, timings and exam day instructions. To download admit card, a candidate has to login on the official website using registration number and date of birth. 

Step 3: Appear for AP LAWCET 

APSCHE will conduct AP LAWCET in a computer-based test mode for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. Candidates have to appear for the exam at their allotted test centres. They should carry AP LAWCET admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre on the exam day.

Step 4: Check AP LAWCET Results

APSCHE will declare the AP LAWCET result within a month of conducting the examination. Candidates who will qualify AP LAWCET as per the criteria i.e. 35 per cent out of the total score of 100 will be allotted ranks in the merit list for further shortlisting process.

Step 5: Counselling and Seat Allotment

The counselling process of AP LAWCET will be conducted on the basis of the merit list. First, the candidates have to exercise web options entry where the shortlisted candidates need to indicate their choices from the available colleges. Then the seat allotment process will begin and, candidates can lock their allotted seat by completing verification of documents and fee payment. 

AP LAWCET Exam Pattern 2022

AP LAWCET question paper contains 120 objective-type questions of 120 marks. Candidates need to complete the exam in a duration of 90 minutes. Subjects from which candidates are asked questions in the AP LAWCET exam include General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law.

AP LAWCET 2022 Answer Key & Result

The preliminary AP LAWCET answer key has been released. Along with the answer key, APSCHE has also released the AP LAWCET question papers and response sheets of candidates. The Council has also opened the window for raising objections against the preliminary answer key. Candidates can check the answer key and raise objections against it on the official website of the exam.
