Admission to the participating colleges of CEED 2026 will be conducted in the following manner:

  1. The candidate needs to fill out the CEED application form.

  2. The candidate has to appear in the CEED entrance exam.

  3. If the candidate qualifies in CEED or is assigned a merit rank, then he or she can apply for admission to the M.Des program.

  4. Counseling application forms have to be submitted through the admission portal of the participating institute.

  5. The participating institute will shortlist applications based on CEED merit rank, and may also conduct further admission rounds, if needed.

IIT Bombay will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment process for CEED 2024 qualified candidates. Instead, the candidate will have to apply directly to any or all of the eight participating institutes for admission. Note that IIT Bombay conducts a Joint Seat Allotment process for UCEED.

To get admission to a CEED 2024 participating institute, the candidate needs to go to the admission portal of the institute and fill in the counseling registration form. The registration form will open soon after the CEED 2024 results are declared.

IIT Bombay will release the qualifying cut-off for Part A in the first week of February 2026. Cut-off is released in the form of mean and standard deviation. 

The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2025) are 45.48 and 16.98, respectively and for Part A (CEED 2024) were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.

CEED 2023 qualifying cutoff was released in the form of mean deviation and standard deviation. The mean deviation of Part A stood at 22.59, while the standard deviation stood at 11.82. As per the CEED cutoff 2023, the qualifying marks were 24.58 marks for OPEN category candidates, 22.12 marks for OBC/ EWS, and 12.29 marks for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates.

The UCEED 2024 application form may be filled by candidates seeking admission to the B. Des programme. Also, UCEED 2024 scores is not considered for admission to the M.Des programme. So, the candidates must instead fill out the application form for CEED 2024. Note that both the CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay.

The application form for UCEED 2024 opened on October 3, 2023. Note that the CEED 2024 application form is also currently open.
