The general eligibility criteria for admission to the best MEd colleges in India are given below:

  • Candidates should clear BEd (Bachelor of Education) from a recognised college/ university.
  • Candidates should clear BEd with an aggregate of 50% - 60% depending on the college/university the candidate is applying to.

Yes, one can teach in college after completing their M.Ed. However, to enroll yourself in the lectureship position one needs to clear the NET exam, conducted by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is a popular exam that allows one to apply for various prestigious teaching positions at the college level. The exam is conducted in two phases, where the first round is a written test and the second round is an interview.
The difference between someone with PG and NET qualifications and someone with an M.Ed degree is the level of specialisation they have in a particular subject. In both cases, one has to qualify for the NET

No, unfortunately, an M.Ed. after B.Sc. and B.Ed. does not qualify you for PGT positions in most cases. For PGT, you typically need a postgraduate degree in the specific subject you want to teach, in addition to a B.Ed. 

However, you might be eligible for TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) positions with your B.Sc. and B.Ed. This role involves teaching secondary level subjects related to your B.Sc. degree.
