Yes, there is a huge scope for it now, even more so than there was ten years ago. I personally believe that graduates in this field have more opportunities than technology graduates because they can get hired anywhere that is even remotely related to food such as, but not limited to:
Food companies: Most packed food brands (Nestle, etc. ). Employs Food Science graduates in various departments (Research, production, quality, etc. ). Hospitals: For this, you need to get an internship with a registered dietitian (RD) after graduation and then write an exam to get certified as an RD. Hello Shubham, If you have completed postgraduation, you can apply for the NET JRF to become a scientist. The UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are conducted for the selection of assistant professor, pursue Ph.D. and research. The candidates of Science stream can apply for the CSIR NET while other stream candidates can apply for the UGC NET. The minimum eligibility is post graduation degree for the NET. There is no age limit for the lectureship while candidates must be below 30 years for the NET JRF. The NTA conduct the UGC NET exam twice a year while the next UGC NET exam is scheduled from 2nd December to 16th December 2018.
