I do not know the course you are interested in joining at FTII. For all the courses the written test is in specific area including General Knowledge and General Mental Ability, except for screen play where written test is on screen play writing.

For photography career, none of the degree is specific for bright career it depend on your creativity skills and hold on camera but through mass communication degree, you can understand how media and advertising firms work in the market. Photography is about following more practical approach. The more you do, the more new experiment towards different angle and your understanding for background lighting and focus on object improves.
My suggestion will be Bachelor in mass communication because Through that, you can grow your contact for future work and assignment and give you knowledge how media and advertising firm work and what skills they require for their future employee.
