I do not know the course you are interested in joining at FTII. For all the courses the written test is in specific area including General Knowledge and General Mental Ability, except for screen play where written test is on screen play writing.

To clear the test, you should make yourself well versed in the history of indian cinema, music, literature and art, basics of photogaphy and cinematography, knowledge on recent events and developments in literature and cinema. You may get few questions like writing the sound track for a particular situation, writing a story from a picture, drawing a different view for a given picture, etc.
For the presentation, skills matter and your attitude and passion for the field. You may be asked to give a portfolio of your work at the time of Interview. Read as many articles and lots of literature. Read about important figures in the Art and Culture world in India, including famous people of the past.
Also, your general knowledge about current events is what they want to see. So, as much as you can practice and of course watch loads of movies, do.

Mass communication is just more than a field to pursue as it gets you a wide range of options available after the completion of the degree.
In order to pursue Mass communication, you can take up the courses like:
BJMC (Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication)
B.Sc. MCAJ (Bachelors of Science in Mass communication and Journalism)
You can take up the following courses from the government and private institutes. Some of the best colleges that you can choose from are:
JIMS, IP
Trinity, IP
Maharaja Agrasen College of professional studies, IP
GGS, IPU
DCAC, DU
AAFT, PTU
In order to be a graduate from any of these colleges, you might have to write their respective entrance exams as well. A minimum of 50% in 12th from any stream is mandatory to get into the field of mass communication. Also, decide whether you are interested in the field or not by consulting your teachers and parents for guidance. Anchor, writer, film maker, journalist, reporter, transponder, director, cinematographer, editor, radio jockey, etc. are the fields that you can enroute from this field.
