MBBS in Germany

One of the necessities for applicants while going to study overseas is managing their finances. Germany requires opening up a Blocked Account, also known as a Sperrkonto, for applicants planning to apply for the German VISA to study in Germany. This account is required for covering the living expenses of the student. As of 2025, applicants applying for a German student VISA as required to deposit approximately INR 10 - 11 L to cover their daily expenses like housing rent, meals, transportation, supplies, healthcare, and miscellaneous expenses. The money is released in monthly installments of about EUR 934 (INR 94.8 K). Applicants can avail the facility of a blocked account by German banks and service providers like Deutsche Bank, Expatrio, and Fintiba. Without the proof of a blocked account, the German VISA would be rejected.

However, students should consider their personal preferences, language barriers (as many courses are taught in German), and cultural differences when choosing between studying medicine in Germany or India.

NEET exam is one of the major requirements that Indian applicants must meet to study MBBS course in Germany. Indian students approaching admission into MBBS degrees in Germany 2024 must check the requirements. Some of the basic MBBS in Germany requirements are as follows:

• Must complete higher secondary education (10+2) from a recognised board with a minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
• NEET exam qualification is mandatory for admission to MBBS in Germany for Indian students
• Candidates must be 17 years old at the time of admission to the MBBS admission
• Candidates must clear the Test for Medical Studies (TMS) and individual college entrance exams to apply for medical schools in Germany
