It's very nice to see that you are interested in puesuing degree course in engineering after completing your Diploma. Unfortunately distance mode is not the answer. These days universities are debarred from offering professional courses via distance mode. However you the option of doing your AMIE which is equivalent to degree in engineering for all practical purposes. Best wishes to you.

Different colleges have different procedure. It may so happen that you have to start from UG based on your 12th and your Diploma is put to no use. But different countries also have different procedure. Seek help here

A Diploma holder can definitely seek admission in lateral mode directly in second year of four years engineering course. You should go through the prospectus of the course provided by the college to know about details of selection, eligibility, fee, etc.
