Hi there,
SVNIT is amongst the top 10 NITs of India and also one of the oldest technical institutes. It was established in 1961 with just 3-4 branches and mechanical was one amongst them.
So, being among the oldest institutes and one of the oldest core branches, the department is well settled and well equipped with the required necessary labs also a no. of new labs have been constructed which will mostly start in this academic year. It has faculty members with ocean of knowledge in various fields of Mechanical Engineering.

Placements : The placements were not that good as compared to the previous years and around 90% of the students are placed who were in First Degree. Mostly Dual Degree students (Non-CS) and low CGPA students are unplaced yet. The highest was 45 lakhs, lowest 4.2 LPA, and the average was 9 LPA.
10 core companies have visited our campus like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, HPCL, Nestle Etc. and in IT, lots of good companies like Goldman Sachs, Directi, Amazon, Samsung and in non-core, banks and consultancy companies have visited including top players like Bain, Mckinsey, Boston, Axis Bank, IndusInd, HSBC, etc.

Eligibility criteria for Masters in Finance in USA Universties is graduation degree with 10+2+4 years education. Generally most of the universities expect an undergraduate cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale in the final two years of undergraduate studies. You are eligible to apply for Masters in Finance in USA Universities based o your educational qualification. As you do not have prior Finance knowledge and sufficient background in business statistics, financial management/ corporate finance and microeconomics etc, you may be expected to enroll in online self-paced, non-credit mini-courses.

The main campus which is located in Kancheepuram is the best for all the streams provided, because it has the best facilities provided. Also, the number of students from different parts of the country as well as world are much more than any other campus. A lot of co-curricular activities also takes place so you get a good exposure and ample amount of opportunities to take part and do things other than studies. The faculty and the equipment are also a lot better than in any other campus so the main campus is the best option for any stream.
