Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineers use physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, structural analysis and materials science to research, design, develop and manufacture tools, machines, engines and various other mechanical devices. They may design manufacturing plants, industrial equipment, robotics, medical devices, artificial organs, heating and cooling systems, aircrafts and even simple toasters. They may also be responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of such equipment, tools and systems.
Mechanical engineers, by designing manufacturing equipment and tools, also influence the way many other products are designed and manufactured, such as doors, shoes and cameras. They work in virtually any manufacturing industry, including aerospace, automotive, agriculture, chemical, power generation, medical and environmental.

Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines.
