Hello Ajish,
The information you have given is quite interesting. You have scored quite well in your 10th, your 12th and even in your MBA. But while doing BE, something has happened which made you not score well. Oh. After you have finished MBA now you want to do Masters in mechanical engineering? Is that right? Yes, you can of course do it because you have scored more than 50%. You need to appear for GATE and depending on the marks obtained in GATE you can get an engineering college.

As you openly told about your grade, it's good. It mainly depends on your basics, if you like programming and debugging then you can choose CSE. Mechanical will be the easiest branch after CSE as we can answer the questions from seeing the drawings. You can opt for the civil branch also if you like drawing and planning.

IO would suggest you opt for Thiagarajar College of Engineering as this college is better than SSN in every respect that is in terms of placements, infra and also the faculty is far better than SSN.

See, in India, as of now, the increasing scope is of electronics only as there are very less manufacturing plants in India and only some companies are coming to India that will hire mechanical engineers, but in the electronics field, this is totally opposite and more and more companies are setting up there manufacturing plants in India.

See, the best college in both of then is VVP as this college is best in terms of placements, infra, students to teachers ratio and also the faculty of this college is quite better than the MEFGI. Also, VVP has world-class labs and there is no lack of equipment.

See, in the mechanical branch, you can't get placements other than from your college as it is very hard to find that but as a electronics engineer you can easily grab a good job and also the promotion in this filed is also quite good.
