There is no such thing as fixed placements, but it depends on the student's capability, and according to my knowledge, it is better than many universities of India.

You should go for B. Tech Mechanical in Design and Development by Rayat Bahra University, as they are offering unique course, called New Age Program, in coloration with Siemens, Google, & IBM, especially With Siemens for B. Tech Mechanical Engineering. Along with engineering curriculum, they are teaching skills used in industry to make the candidate industry ready engineer. You will get certification from Siemens, and it will be taught by industry's experts of Siemens.
So, I think it is a very good course from viewpoint of placement, package and dream companies.

Placement eligibility depends on company's criteria. If they want only final year score, you can. But, it depends on companies. So, don't worry you can.

If you are interested in mechanical engineering then you will have to go with the option at the very beginning of your degree. After your HSC, you'll have to chose mechanical engineering in your counselling to get the degree.
