National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur is a government institute established in 2008. It offers B.Des under four specializations they are-:

B.Des. (Fashion Design)

B.Des. (Textile Design)

B.Des. (Knitwear Design)

B.Des. (Fashion Communication)

The Basic Eligibility Criteria - 12th Pass. The candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination of any recognised board or he/she must have secured a passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

And basic Admission Criteria is the NIFT Entrance test.

NIFT Kannur is a government institute. It has a great infrastructure and is equipped with great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs, and specialised workshops etc. NIFT Kannur, like other NIFT campuses, offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs and addmission to these courses is based on marks scored in NIFT Entrance Exam. National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Kannur was established in 2008. It is ranked 9th amongst the 16 NIRF institutes across India. It is a government institute and is equipped with top class infrastructure great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs, and specialised workshops etc. It offers various courses under the UG and PG program.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur accepts NIFT entrance exam for admission to the B.Des course. NIFT cutoff 2023 was concluded for the academic year 2023-24. As per the NIFT Kannur cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for B.Des was 1279 for the General category students for the All India quota. For 2022 and 2021, NIFT Kannur last round closing ranks for B.Des stood at 1631 and 1666

The specialisations in which the BDesign course is offered are Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Textile Design and Fashion Communication. The seat intake for each of the courses is 34.
