NEET 2024 was conducted on May 5, 2024. NTA announced the exam date on September 19, approximately eight months in advance. NTA has decided the exam date after much deliberation and assessing situations such as Board exam schedule, other exams, etc. Over the past few years, NEET exam date was delayed owing to the pandemic situation, which affected the overall academic calendar. To bring back normalcy, NTA conducted NEET UG 2024 in May, similar to the pre-pandemic era after much brainstorming and assessing other entrance exam dates. Howrver, NEET 2024 will be reconducted on June 23, 2024, for 1,563 candidates who were given grace marks.

The NEET 2023 application form was originally released on March 6 late evening, after over a week-long speculation. NTA released the NEET application form again on April 12, as a response to a large number of student requests who could not complete the application process due to technical and server snags. Although the NEET application window was scheduled to open on April 11, due to technical glitches, the registration link was activated on April 12 evening.

NEET is an entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in India. The exam is conducted only in India and some select cities outside India. If there are no test centers for NEET in South Africa, it may not be possible to take the exam in South Africa. It's best to check with the official NEET website or the Indian embassy in South Africa for more information about test center availability and how to register for the exam if interested.
