NEET Notification 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the notification and information brochure for the NEET UG 2026. The NEET 2026 notification is likely to be released in February. The NTA will display the notification on the exam website- neet.nta.nic.in. The NEET notification 2026 PDF will be shared here when released. Candidates will get to know the NEET exam date 2026, schedule, eligibility, application procedure and fee, exam pattern, and list of exam cities on the information brochure. The NEET 2026 application form will be available along with the notification for around a month. 

The NTA conducts the NEET UG exam for admission to undergraduate Medical, Nursing and other allied courses such as MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha Medicine, BVSC & AH, among others.

The NTA will release the NEET exam notification 2026 along with the information bulletin. The NEET notification 2026 will be released online at neet.nta.nic.in and offline in the national dailies. Candidates can download the NEET 2026 information bulletin and notification using the process shared below-

Q:   When will the NEET 2026 notification be released?
A: 

The NTA is likely to release the NEET UG 2026 notification in February 2026. The notification will be released with the information bulletin containing the exam dates and details. Students need to go through the notification before filling out the NEET UG form 2026.  

Q:   What is the NEET registration date?
A: 

The NEET 2026 registration process will start soon. The last date to complete the registration process will be a month after the commencement. Registration is the first step of application wherein candidates have to enter the basic details, validate the OTP and create password. In the NEET application process, candidates have to login with their credentials and then fill up the form, upload documents and pay the application fee of NEET 2026.

NEET 2026 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

The NEET 2026 notification PDF will inform candidates about the latest eligibility criteria. Candidates who fulfill the prescribed conditions will be eligible for the exam. Have a look at the NEET eligibility criteria 2026 below-

  • Candidates who are 17 years of age at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2026, can apply for NEET exam. There is no upper age limit.
  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 Board exam or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects before the cutoff date.
  • General category candidates must obtain a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks, and reserved category candidates should secure 45 per cent (PwD-General) and 40 per cent (SC, ST, OBC, Reserved PWD).
  • Indian Nationals/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who wish to pursue MBBS/ BDS from a foreign university also need to qualify the exam.

Q:   Is there change in the NEET exam pattern 2026?
A: 

The NEET 2026 exam pattern has not been released as of now. The NTA will mention the pattern in the information bulletin. The change in the NEET pattern will be known after the release of notification. The NTA changed the NEET question paper pattern in 2025. The NTA removed the optional questions and the exam duration was reduced by 20 minutes.

NEET 2026 Notification Details

The NTA will inform the details shared below through the NEET UG notification 2026. Have a look at the details below

NEET Application Form: The NTA will release the NEET application form online on neet.nta.nic. The application form process has four stages- Registration, Application Form, Document Upload and Fee Payment.

NEET Exam Date: The notification mentions the exam date and timings. The NEET is conducted in a single day and slot. The exam duration is 180 minutes or 3 hours. As per the Indian Standard Time, the exam is scheduled from 2.00 to 5.00 PM. 

NEET Exam Centres: NEET 2026 exam centres are generally located in 566 cities in India and in 14 cities abroad. The number of NEET 2026 exam centres are 5,468. Candidates need to select three exam cities while filling the form. The NTA allots the NEET exam centre based on the choices filled by the candidates and the availability of seats at the respective exam centre.

NEET Exam Pattern: The NEET exam pattern informs that the exam is paper-pencil-based test of 3 hours carrying 180 questions from Chemistry, Physics and Biology. The medium of the NEET question paper is English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Students cannot do Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) without qualifying the NEET UG exam. Clearing the NEET exam is the minimum eligibility requirement to pursue the MBBS course in India.

Q:   What should I do? I am unable to fill out the NEET application form as my Aadhar is not linked to my mobile number.

If your Aadhaar card is not linked to your mobile number and you are facing problems while filling out the NEET application form, then you should link your Aadhaar to your mobile number first.

You can only do it via a Aadhaar enrollment center and it is not possible to link it from online portal of UIDAI. Once your Aadhar is linked to your mobile number, you can complete your NEET application form. It is very important to ensure that you have filled out all details are accurately to avoid any issues during the application process.

Q:   When will the NEET 2026 information brochure release?

The NTA will release the NEET 2026 information brochure with the application form on the exam website. It contains the NEET exam details such as dates, eligibility, application form, exam pattern, syllabus, exam centre and counselling process.

Q:   When does NTA release the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip?
A: 

NTA releases the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip around 10 days before the exam. The document needs to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration details. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET admit card. 

Q:   What is the purpose of NEET UG Exam?

The purpose of the NEET exam is to verify the eligibility of students for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BSc and other undergraduate courses in government and private medical colleges/ institutes. It is a pre-medical entrance exam for students who want to take admissions to over 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats in colleges or institutes across India. The NEET UG exam is also conducted for admission to Ayush courses in medical institutions and BSc Nursing in Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals.

The official website of NEET 2026 will be announced by NTA. The URL of the website in 2025 was neet.nta.nic.in. It was changed from that of 2024, which was neet.ntaonline.in. The website is hosted by NTA.

The duration of NEET exam is three hours. The exam timing is 2 PM to 5 PM. Test takers needed to report to the exam centre latest by 1 PM. They could not leave the exam hall before 5 PM.
