Nift is well-known everywhere. In Ranchi also maximum people don't know about Nift. According to me there may be following reason:
Lack of publicity. Low strength: In Nift, the overall strength is around 1000. It is less than any private school. Branches:In Nifft there is only two branches that is metallurgy and manufacturing. Maximum people have lack of interest towards these branches. It's name:It is not popular due to its name also. When we say Nift, maximum people thinks it is national institute of fashion technology. Still I strongly believe that one day Ranchi will be known for Nift because we have very talented student. Nift also gives good rankers in GATE every year. Students have also showed there talent in SAE and many field. Good luck Niftians.

NIFT offers fashion courses at UG as well as PG level. Designing is one of the extremely lucrative and glamorous career options today. It opens a world of opportunities for anyone with a passion for creativity. Today one may choose to specialize in any one of the sub-fields of fashion such as Apparel designing, Jewelers designing, Accessory designing. The options are limitless. The job of a fashion designer is very demanding which involves meeting daily deadlines, travelling dusty roads to reach the local markets for procuring material, dealing with workers and managing a team effectively. Talented people in this domain enjoy glamour, success & high compensation. Practical, industrial experience is a must in this field which can be achieved via internships or upon getting a job. There are endless opportunities for fashion designers. They can work in fields such as;
1. Garment and Textile Export house and design and make apparel, including accessories like jewelry and footwear that appeal the buyers and meet their specific design requirements.
2. Television and Film Industry; with so many mythological serials and movies coming up, there is a rise in the demand for fashion designers in this sector. They design garments for the actors as per the demand of the role.
3. Retail Chains- Fashion Designers often tie up with retail chains to make customer pleasing garments that are put at all locations of the retail brand.
4. Freelancer- Fashion designers open their own stores/boutique studios where they design apparel based on the needs and the taste of their customers.
5. Faculty of College/ School- Experienced fashion designers may join as faculty members in institutes that offer courses in this field so that they can share their expertise and knowledge with the budding fashion designers in order to train them better.
