NID is the best institute to pursue any designing but NIFT is best to pursue fashion designing. No, NID entrance exam is more tough than NIFT entrance exam.

NIFT offers 4 years duration Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) degree course. It prepares professionals who can significantly contribute to the fashion technology domain of the apparel industry by providing practical solutions to the industry in India and abroad.

Scoring a good rank can definitely get you a good campus and the department of your choice but for fee concession, you can apply for a scholarship. The scholarship is given on the basis of one's financial condition and the need. Through scholarship, one can get a fee concession up to 50% of the fee.

Well, no one gets a fee concession for giving the entrance exam of NIFT. Firstly, you give the exam to get a rank on the basis of which you get the admission. And secondly, you can apply for scholarship which is given according to your financial condition. Scholarship provides a fee concession upto 50% of the fee as well.

NIFT conducts it's entrance exam all over India for all of its campus all together in the second week of February, Though the forms are out by the month of November and the last date is usually in the month of January. There are two levels, after clearing the two one gets a rank on the basis of which admission is given.
