Hi Amitabh,
The entrance exam conducted for NIFT admissions consists of two papers NIFT CAT and NIFT GAT. Both the exams take place on the same day. Hi Pravendra,
In order to get admission in NIFT, you are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam. NIFT offers B.Des programme in Fashion Design, Leather Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design, Knitwear Design and Fashion Communication. The NIFT Entrance Exam is divided into four sections which are Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), Situation Test and Group discussion/ Personal Interview. Hi Shivani,
The written examination for design comprises of two papers to be written on the same day. A three hour examination called the Creative Ability Test CAT and a two hour examination called the General Ability Test (GAT). The CAT paper is a drawing paper while the GAT is a MCQ format paper with 150 questions to be attempted in 120 minutes.
It comprises of General English (35 questions), Comprehension passages (6 to 8 in number with 30 questions in total), quantitative (25 questions), analytical reasoning (30 questions) and business domain (30 questions). Please refer to these links for preparation tips for both the exams:

If you are asking for important topics for NIFT entrance, then these depend on the type of course you want to opt for. For example, if you want to be a design student then apart from general aptitude, your design ability would be checked. General aptitude covers basic mathematics. 10th standard book is sufficient for this. You can score good marks in general knowledge if you are aware about current TV ads. Hello,
After clearing the entrance exam, which campus a candidate gets is completely based on the rank he/she gets. Higher the rank is, more is the probability to get the desired NIFT centre.

Hey,
Surely, if you want to be an apparel merchandiser you can opt for either M.F.TECH or MFM course. M.F.TECH is all about production, merchandising, quality, etc., whereas, MFM is about managerial skills and dealing with clients. So, if you want to be a merchandiser with sound technical knowledge of the industry, M.F.TECH is the best option for you.

Hi,
NIFT offers Masters in Design, Masters of fashion management and Masters in fashion technology. The first two courses can be applied by a person graduated in any field and to be a part of Masters in fashion technology, one of has to be of engineering background.
