The CLAT is the entrance exam for NLU's law degree, whereas the NIFT is the entrance exam for NIFT's design courses. Both are gateways to completely different careers in fashion and law. Therefore, the placement and salary for these courses cannot be compared. After graduating from a top NLU, you could earn up to 15 LPA in a law firm. A prestigious NIFT campus can also offer you a comparable placement package for designers. It is just that you have more career opportunities after pursuing a design course from NIFT than a law course from NLU. This is because getting a license to practice law requires passing the AIBE exam, and the legal profession also requires more experience.

Every NIFT campus offers a merit-based financial assistance programme to qualified students. It is known as SARTHAK under which you may receive up to a 100% scholarship at NIFT depending on your parent's income. There are three slabs in total:
1. Family income up to 1.5 Lacs: 100% scholarship
2. Family income up to 2.5 Lacs: 75% scholarship
3. Family income up to 4 Lacs: 50% scholarship
Apart from that, it has UDAAN scholarships for foreign studies. For this, you need to have an excellent academic record to study further at foreign institutes. There are several other sponsored awards and scholarships at every campus for top students in various courses at NIFT.

The NIFT offers admission to short-duration, part-time courses under its Continuing Education (CE) programme. These courses include:
1. Design Development in Indian Ethnic Wear (DDIEW): The fee for the course is Rs. 1,41,600.
2. Luxury Product Design: The fee for the course is Rs. 1,18,000
3. Interior Design & Space: The fee for the course is Rs. 1,65,200
4. Fashion Retail Management: The fee for the course is Rs. 1,41,600
5. Digital Media & Visual Communication (DMVC): The fee for the course is Rs. 77,800. There are 36 courses lasting one year, 17 courses lasting six months, and 18 courses lasting less than six months. These courses are offered at various campuses of NIFT, and class schedules vary from two days a week to five days a week. To take admission in these CE courses, you have to register online or manually by downloading the "CE Registration Form" from the NIFT website. You need to submit this form along with a demand draft of Rs. 2150 in favor of the NIFT study center you selected. Admissions for the 2022–23 academic session are closed, and forms will be available by March 2023 for the next academic session.
