There are 19 NIFT Colleges which offers admission for 2025 academic session. Candidates can choose their preferred campuses during counselling based on seat availability and rank. The names of NIFT 2025 colleges which are most popular are NIFT New Delhi, NIFT Chennai, NIFT Gandhinagar, NIFT Hyderabad and NIFT Kolkata.

The Common Merit Rank (CMR) that applicants receive on the entrance tests will be the primary determinant of seat distribution at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in 2025. Depending on the program, candidates who pass the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT) can advance to a Situation Test or Personal Interview for additional assessment. The ranks obtained in these tests, as well as the decisions candidates make during the counselling process about their desired courses and campuses, will be considered in the final seat distribution. The candidate will be shortlisted for counseling on the basis of their NIFT scores. You can check your eligibility status by logging into the result portal.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology will conduct fresh registrations for NIFT counseling.
For the current academic session, NIFT 2024, the counseling registration was conducted from June 5-15, 2024. As part of the registration process, the candidate also needed to fill in and lock choices.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will conduct a SPOT round after completion of the four regular rounds.
In the SPOT round, seat will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. So, any candidate who is available for admission will be offered a seat.
Note that if there are multiple candidates, the admission committe may consult the merit rank, but typically it is on the spot admission.
So, if you miss out on a seat in any of the previous four rounds, don't forget to apply in the SPOT round.

The allotment of seats will be based on:
- Choice opted at the time of counseling registration (academic programs + campuses)
- The category of the candidate
- Seat intake in the college opted for admission
- NIFT 2025 merit rank of the candidate.
NIFT 2025 seat allotment process will be conducted in four regular and one spot rounds.
The 1st round of seat allotment will be declared around the 3rd week of June 2025. .
The counseling registration will be conducted in May 2025.

There are 19 NIFTs that will accept NIFT 2026 Scores for admission purposes. These institutes are known as participating colleges.
However, in addition to the participating colleges, there are other private colleges that will also consider NIFT 2026 scores for admission to their UG and PG design courses. The candidates are urged to go through the list of result-sharing institutes.

- The category of the candidate
- Seat intake in the college opted for admission
- NIFT 2025 merit rank of the candidate.
