No, you cannot get a certificate from NIOS without passing the exam. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) requires students to clear the prescribed exams (theory and practical, if applicable) to receive a valid certificate for Secondary (10th) or Senior Secondary (12th) level.

Candidates who want to enroll in NIOS 12th must meet the minimum age requirement of 15 years and hold a licensee board certificate of passing 10th standard education. Students must reach 15 years of age while possessing either a 10th standard degree or completion of a 10-month vocational training together with passing the 10+2 level examination from a recognised educational board. NIOS 12th registration comes with a total charge of INR 1,800 but the practical examining adds INR 1,200 to the payment. Each subject costs an examination fee of approximately INR 250.

Yes, the NIOS mark sheets for class 10th and 12th are available online in provisional form; you can get it as an original copy from your Accredited Institute (AI) only after the result announce. You can also get the digital copies from DigiLocker.

The NIOS intake for October 2025 Session accepts both Stream 1 and Stream 2 enrollment applications. NIOS began accepting applications on September 16, 2024 through January 31, 2025 with standard fees until February 15, 2025 and added a late payment fee of INR 260 for February 16-February 28. The additional fee was INR 520 for February 29-March 15 until the final deadline on March 15, 2025. Applicants can apply with a late fee increment until March 15th 2025 by paying INR 260 before February 15th 2025, up to INR 520 before February 28th 2025.

When you understand that you will finish your 12th from NIOS after finishing 10th in Nepal, first ensure that your Nepalese 10th certificate is recognized-NIOS accepts all equivalent boards.
Thereafter, visit nios.ac.in for registration during admission cycles (April-May or October-November). Submit your 10th mark sheet, birth certificate, address proof, and a fee of about INR 2,000-2,500 per subject. For NIT admission, PwD candidates need 65% in Class 12 or must be in the top 20 percentile of their board. With 64.4% from NIOS, you fall slightly short, but you may still qualify if you meet the top 20 percentile criteria. Check NIOS percentile data or contact NIT admissions for confirmation. Also, ensure you qualify JEE Main for admission.
