Admission to M.Tech in NIT Calicut is Chiefly located by scores in GATE or counseling of CCMT. But within this they also have a Self-Sponsored section in the M.Tech programs such as Computer Science and Engineering. In these seats one qualifies based on his or her performance in a written examination and/or interview by the concerned department. Thus, you could have a chance to make use of the self-sponsored scheme and receive your admission on the basis of their personal directed test and interview in spite of the low mark in GATE. Self-sponsored seats are the ones in which financial aid/stipend is usually not provided.

If 48870 is your OBC NCL ranks then it is hard to get any sourse in NIT Trichy or calicut. If 48870 is your AIR rank, still you will not get any branch in above college. You should try somewhere else.

With 53.5 percentile in JEE Mains, getting admission to NIT Calicut isn't possible, even for lower branches.

 The cutoff for all courses is much higher than your percentile.

You can try for country government schools or private engineering schools that receive low JEE rankings or provide admission thru 12th marks or their own entrance tests.

The total number of seats offered in undergraduate engineering courses at NIT Calicut is around 1,182.
