NIT Calicut accepts JEE Main scores for admission to the BTech course specialisations and the BArch course. The cutoff is released category-wise for candidates belonging to the All India as well as the Home State quota. For candidates belonging to the General HS category, the cutoff ranks to get admission ranged between 241 and 47061.

For students belonging to the General AI quota, the GATE CCMT Round 1 cutoff scores varied between 351 and 731. For top M.Tech branches like CSE and CSE (Information Security), the cutoff scores stood at 731 and 694, respectively. Considering the first round cutoff 2025, other top M.Tech specialisations were Microelectronics and VLSI Design with a cutoff score of 647 and Electronics Design and Technology (600). For the OBC category students, the first-round cutoff scores for CSE and CSE (IS) stood at 694 and 671, respectively, under the All India quota.

NIT Calicut admits students to its BTech courses based on JEE Main ranks, followed by JoSAA counselling. If you belong to the general category under the AI quota, the minimum rank required to be eligible for Round 1 admission was 4678 or less. The maximum cutoff rank went up to 28830. NIT Calicut JEE Main cutoff 2025 for the first round varied between 4678 and 28830 for admission to the BTech course across multiple specialisations for the General AI category. The one with the lowest cutoff rank of 4678 was Computer Science and Engineering. For the OBC category candidates, the JEE Main cutoff ranks were between 1529 and 10104. If you belong to the OBC category of students and are aiming for NIT Calicut MSc courses, then you must aim to secure a cutoff rank of up to 1254 or less. For 2025, the first round cutoff list is out, wherein the closing ranks varied between 966 and 1254 for the students belonging to the OBC category under the AI quota. So, considering the first round cutoff, it is better to have a lower cutoff rank to improve your chances of securing a seat at NIT Calicut for the MSc programme. Below are the MSc specialisation-wise CCMN first-round closing ranks of OBC category students:

Currently, the admission can be done for the Ph.D. in Management in NIT Calicut based on the candidates GATE/NET score and interview. Usually the general qualifying criteria are a Master's degree in Management, Engineering or a similar field with not less than 60% weight average ( 55 % for SC/ST). But the cutoff marks may differ depending on the number of candidates and the given research fields. So as to know the most accurate cutoff it is advisable to access the NIT Calicut website or better still get a hold of the institute.

Duirng the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 4088 for the General category students under the AII India Quota.
