Candidates with a BSc or BCA degree in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics or BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate is the basic eligibility for MCA at NIT Calicut. In addition to this, NIMCET scores are required for MCA admission.Admission to NIT Calicut MCA is entrance exam-based. Candidates are selected for the course based on merit in NIMCET exam.The minimum eligibility criteria for the MCA course is a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications (BCA) or a related field with mathematics as a mandatory subject in Class 12. To get selected for the MBA course at NIT Calicut, candidates are required to qualify for the general eligibility criteria first that states, candidates must qualify for their graduationa and Class 12 with at least an aggregate of 60%. Additionally, candidates seeking admission to this course must apply and appear for the CAT exam in the first place. After the CAT result declaration, candidates must apply for an MBA on the official website of NIT Calicut. Lastly, students who got selected in the cutoff are required to appear in GD and PI.

NIT Calicut provides various safety and security measures for the students. For managing hostel facilities, two wardens, a caretaker, an office assistant and resident tutors are available in the hostel on all working days. Anti-ragging measures are strictly followed. The students must adhere to the disciplinary code, which applies to all activities/events on the campus. The security personnel ensures the safety of the residents 24/7. Some students review the campus as peaceful with a lush green environment, while others have noted the presence of street dogs on campus.

According to Engineering NIRF report 2024 of NIT Calicut, the median package offered during BTech placements stood at INR 11.7 LPA, respectively. Earlier, the highest and average package offered during NIT Calicut placements 2023 stood at INR 50 LPA and INR 13.77 LPA, respectively. Further, the median package offered during NIT Calicut placement 2023 stood at INR 10 LPA. The placement rate recorded during NIT Calicut placements 2023 was 83.65%. Other than this, a total of 197 companies visited the campus during NIT Calicut placements 2023.

Both colleges accept CCMN scores for the admission to the MSc courses. NIT Agartala Last Round cutoff rank for MSc in Physics specialisation stood at 1986 and 1627 for 2023 and 2024, respectively.
