UG Diploma | Candidates must have passed (10+2) HS Vocational Examination from the WBSCT & VE & SD (Vocational Education Division) [Erstwhile, WBSCVE&T] or Passed 2 years' ITI at a stretch after passing Madhyamik or equivalent examination or Passed 10+2 examination with mentioned compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology from any recognised Board or Passed 10+2 (Science) with Mathematics as one of the subjects from any recognised Board or Passed 10+2 (Science) with Technical Vocational Subjects from any recognised Boards. |

B.E. / B.Tech | The candidates must have completed a Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc with a minimum of 45% marks. For reserve category students minimum marks are 40%. The candidates must have a valid JELET score (pass marks in XII standard with mathematics in case of B.Sc Degree Holders). |

After 10th Diploma | Candidate must have passed the 10th standard (Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board/ Council/ Institute. MCA | Candidate who qualify eligibility as given below can also apply: Module 4 Candidate must have obtained a BSc Honours degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline from a UGC recognised University/Institute with a minimum of 60% marks in Aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) along with at least 55% marks in Mathematics. They must secure at least 60% marks in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent level from recognised Boards with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at each level. Candidate have to secure 60% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) at each level of education. |

After JoSAA seat allotment, the candidates will have to download their provisional seat allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee. Next, the candidates will have to visit their allotted Reporting Centre (RC) to verify their documents. All of the required documents have to be submitted for verification. After the documents are verified, the candidates will have to report to their respective allotted institutes for confirmation of admission. The tuition fee has to be paid to confirm the admission.

As per the NIRF report 2024, a total of 31 MTech students graduated in 2023. Out of these, 20 were placed during 2023 placements. This makes the placement rate almost 65%. Earlier, out of 34 MTech graduates 12 were placed during 2022 placements. This makes the placement rate 35%. From 2021 to 2023, a fluctuating trend was recorded in the MTech placement rate. See the table below depicting the NIT Sikkim placement trends for MTech:
