The tuition fees for BTech courses at NIT Kurukshetra are INR 5 lakh, and the tuition fees for BTech at NIT Delhi are INR 5 Lacs too. Hence, the tuition fee is the same for both NITs. So, candidates can compare both of the institutes on different factors, such as cutoff, average placement package, seats, ranking of that particular institute, affiliation, accreditation, etc. Check out the closing rank for the BTech course in both institutes in the academic year 2024 and the average placement package in the table below:
Institute Name | Last Closing Rank General AI | Average Placements Package |
---|---|---|
NIT Kurukshetra | 7595 (BTech in CSE) | INR 6.8 LPA - INR 35.5 LPA |
NIT Delhi | 10174 (BTech in CSE) | INR 15.59 LPA |

Your rank should fall between 2.5 to 3 Lacs based on your 73.15 percentile position in JEE Mains when you belong to the SC category. The CSE or ECE admission to NITs is determined by yearly fluctuating cutoff criteria. Under the SC category admission to CS/ECE programs at lower-ranked NITs tends to be reachable through closing ranks between 1.5 to 2 lakh. The Home State quota grants you admission possibilities in NIT Mizoram and NIT Arunachal Pradesh and NIT Nagaland although your expected rank remains at 2.5 to 3 lakh. Seeing previous year cutoffs lets you determine your specific admission possibility.

The first-year transfer from NIT to IIT cannot happen directly because IITs do not have student transfer policies. Student relationship programs between NITs and IITs let qualified students from NITs study at IITs as per mutual agreement protocols but only for limited academic periods. Students should first clear JEE Advanced and obtain admission as a new entrant to join an IIT. Current policies of the IITs forbid direct student transfers from NITs while they do present research internships and special programs that allow NIT students to join but not through direct admission routes.

Joining an NIT for B.Arch is a better option than colleges under EAMCET due to factors like national-level recognition, better infrastructure, experienced faculty, and stronger placement opportunities. NITs admit students through JEE Main Paper 2, a competitive peer group. They also offer better exposure, research opportunities, and strong industry relations. If location and affordability are priorities, EAMCET colleges can be a good choice.

NIT's (National institutes of technology) do not generally provide 100% schlorship to international students, but they offer various financial aid options. Schlorship like ICCR ( Indian Council for Cultural Relations) schlorships, SAARC & African schlorships, and merit- based fee waivers are available for eligible students. Some NITS may also offer tution reductions based on academic excellence. Additionally, students can explore state government schlorships, embassy grants, and private funding sources for further financial assistance. For exact details, checking individual NIT websites and MHRD (now MoE) portals is recommended
