A *JEE Mains rank of 18,979* gives you a good chance of getting a seat in *NITs or IIITs*, but a *"free seat"* depends on factors like *category, home state quota, and fee waivers*. If you belong to a reserved category or have a low-income certificate, you may get tuition fee waivers under government schemes. Check JoSAA counseling cutoffs for exact details.

A general EWS rank of 72384 in JEE Mains indicates that securing a seat in a top NIT is highly improbable, but you might still have a chance at a lower-ranked NIT depending on the chosen branch and the specific NIT's EWS category cutoff; it's crucial to analyze previous year cut-offs for different NITs to gauge your admission possibilities

Your chances of getting into an NIT depend on the previous year cutoff trends when you hold an OBC-NCL rank of 7059 in B.Plan for JEE Main. The cutoff ranks for B.Plan admissions in NIT Patna, NIT Raipur and NIT Bhopal under the OBC-NCL category during previous years have reached above 7000 during later rounds of counseling according to historical data. NIT Calicut and NIT Trichy along with other popular NITs maintain OBC-NCL category cutoffs between 3000–5000 ranks in the B.Plan programme of JEE Main. Some vacant seats become available during later counseling rounds thus offering you a chance to receive admission. Private universiti

With a rank of 42304 and an 82.033488 percentile in the EWS category, your chances of getting admission to NITs or IIITs are low; you might be able to secure admission to lower-ranked NITs or specific branches in less competitive IIITs, but getting into top NITs with this percentile is unlikely.

Key points to consider:

EWS Cutoff:

To get into most NITs under EWS category, you generally need a percentile closer to the 90th percentile or higher.

Branch Selection:

Focus on less popular branches within NITs or IIITs to increase your chances of admission.

A JEE Main CRL rank of 139,000 makes it exceptionally difficult to gain admission to any of the NIT. A student needs to achieve rank  between the top 10,000 to 70,000 to secure admission at NITs based on their engineering branch selection.

The ranks required to secure admission at NIT Rourkela in 2024 ranged from 3,983 through 48,289 according to different branches of study. The Computer Science and Engineering programme at NIT Silchar held closing ranks between 5,595 and 12,893.

Your CRL position at rank 139,000 creates low prospects of admission to NITs. Your engineering education options include seeking admission to r

Some NITs have lower cutoff scores than others, so you may get in better if you apply to less competitive NITs. It is advisable to target for certain branches or specializations that have lower demand, leading to a lower cutoff score.
