With a CRL rank of over 3 Lacs but an SC category rank of 21,000, you stand a fair chance of being admitted to certain NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, particularly lower-ranked ones, since your SC category rank is within a viable range for admission to these colleges; however, the institutes and branches will be determined by the closing ranks for your category in each college.

Your chances are low to secure admission at top NITs or GFTIs or IIITs because you hold an 82 percentile in Mains while being in the OBC NCL category. You have the possibility to secure admission into lower-ranked institutions among NITs and GFTIs. The colleges NIT Arunachal Pradesh, NIT Meghalaya and NIT Sikkim provide admission opportunities to OBC NCL students through closing ranks between 20000 and 30000 during 2023. Your possibilities of admission to GFTIs include IIIT Kota and IIIT Guwahati and IIIT Sri City based on their 2023 closing ranks that ranged between 15,000 and 25,000 for the OBC NCL category. The admission requirement

Yes, it is possible to gain admission to IITs and NITs without a GATE score through several alternative pathways:Sponsored Candidates: Professionals with a minimum of two to three years of work experience can apply for M.Tech programs as sponsored candidates. In this route, the employer sponsors the candidate's education, and the candidate is not required to have a GATE score. However, a letter of sponsorship from the employer is typically mandatory.

Quality Improvement Program (QIP): This programme is designed for faculty members with at least three years of teaching experience. It allows them to pursue M.Tech or Ph.D. programs a

With an 84 percentile in JEE Mains from the OBC category in 2024, NIT or IIIT admission is difficult but not out of the question. Generally, NITs will have a higher percentile, sometimes over 90 for sought-after branches. But newer NITs or less sought-after branches may take lower-percentile candidates. IIITs also have different cutoffs, and some may take candidates with an 84 percentile. It's best to look for individual cutoffs for each institute and factors such as class 12th marks, which are taken for admission to these institutes.

Your JEE Mains score of 90 percentile and Class 12 grade of 85% make you eligible for admission in NITs. Your position in the general category ranks between 87,000 and 90,000 thus it becomes challenging to secure admission to the top NITs when targeting popular branches. Through the Home State quota you have a chance to access Biotechnology and Metallurgy or relatively new programs at NIT Allahabad (MNNIT). The next suitable colleges for you would be Raipur, Jalandhar, Durgapur and Goa NITs. To qualify for admission to NITs you should join JoSAA counseling while maintaining openness regarding your desired branch options.

Yes, NITs and GFTIs give admission on the basis of the JEE Mains category rank rather than the overall commo rank list.  The CRL is still considered a benchmark for overall merit, especially for the general category candidates, where the CRL is the primary rank used.  For reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and EWS, admission to NITs and GFTIs is primarily based on their respective category ranks within the JEE Mains exam, while for general category candidates, the CRL is the primary rank used for admission.  The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) manages the admission process for NITs and GFTIs, considering both

For admission to NITs (National Institutes of Technology) through JEE Main, you must meet both the JEE Main cutoff and the eligibility criteria for board exam marks.

Eligibility Criteria:

JEE Main Rank: You need to qualify for JEE Main with a rank within the cutoff for your desired NIT and branch.

Board Exam Percentage Requirement:

For General and OBC categories: Minimum 75% in Class 12 (or be in the top 20 percentile of your board).

For SC/ST candidates: Minimum 65% in Class 12.
