First, check for the Homestate NIT first. There you would get an idea of your selection.

IITs cannot be compared to the private colleges. It is a worldwide renowned institute and has far better placement opportunities than the private colleges. Private colleges have no value or least value where students with big pockets take admission and just pass their time.

Hi,
Congratulation for such an amazing score. NIT, Rourkela has been ranked at 12th position by NIRF rating.
For admissions to NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs, candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12th exam conducted by the respective board. For SC/ ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class XII.
As you got good rank, and your 12th mark is just 1% less, if your luck favors you can surely get admission.
Other than that the opening rank for getting admission into NIT in biotechnology for SC candidates is 3594 and the closing rank is 4844. There is a chance of
