Both of these institutes are the top institutes for engineering in Kolkata. However, as per my opinion, NIT should be considered a better institute than UEM Kolkata. NIT was established 13 years before UEM Kolkata, thus has more credebility. When compared in terms of fees, NIT fees for B.Tech CSE stands at INR 4Lakhs where as it is INR 5.60 Lakhs for UEM. NIT also has an NIRF ranking of 200-500. Thus, considering all such factors, NIT Kolkata should be the ideal choice.

Narula Institute of Technology is one of the best colleges in case you did not get a satisfactory rank in the exam, the institute is located in West Bengal the infrastructure of the college is very good. The cutoff ranges from 85 percentile to 90 percentile according to the branch you are targeting.

NIRF ranking of Narula Institute of Technology is between 200 to 250 it oscillates in this range the average placement I would say of B.Tech is good not very good if you compare with Jadavpur or NITs.  You can take admission in Narula Institute of Technology without JEE by giving WBJEE direct admission is not possible it is a government-registered college you can take admission only by appearing in WBJEE and getting a decent rank-clearing exam according to your category. you can check the required marks to get admission on Shiksha itself.

Narula institute of technolgy is the college in west bengal this is very good college it offers BTECH, MBA, BCA, BBA, MTECH.
Now coming to your question how  can I take admission in NIT for MTECH You will get admission through GATE you can check seats distribution according to your branch the intake is not very high average package is great you have to prepare for GATE exam to get into it. even if your rank is not very good you can get admission in this college with good placement stats. like you need to get atleast to be in top 10 percent in GATE to get CSE of this college.

To get into NITs via JEE Mains, you'll need to have passed 12th grade with at least 75% marks (or be in the top 20% of your class). For SC/ST students, the minimum is 65%. There's no upper age limit.

No, sadly, it is very difficulty for you to get into NITs or IIITs with 86.48 prcentile. Even if you are from OBC category, the said percentile is still less for getting into NITs or IIITs. The competition is too high that the cutoffs are exceeding 90s for such institutions.
