Nope, a BAMS doctor cannot practice as a gynecologist in modern medicine directly. But, they can specialize in "Stree Rog and Prasuti Tantra," which is the Ayurvedic branch focusing on women's health, pregnancy and even childbirth.

To become a gynecologist, candidates must pursue MBBS course and later followed by followed an MD or DNB course.

After completing BHMS course, pursuing a specialisation in Gynecology directly is not possible, as Gynecology is a branch of allopathic medicine.

If you are interested in allopathic gynaecology, you would need to pursue an MBBS degree followed by a specialisation (MD) in Gynaecology.

While it is not common to pursue a career in Gynecology directly after completing a BDS course, it is technically possible to shift to the field of Gynecology through further education.

To become a Gynecologist, one would typically need to complete an MBBS followed by a specialisation in Gynecology (MD/MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology).

Since BDS is focused on dental care and not general medicine, transitioning into Gynecology would require going through the full medical education route. This may involve taking an entrance exam for medical school and completing the necessary years of study.

Obtaining a seat in OBG at an All India Rank (AIR) of 39,700 in NEET PG 2024 in the SC category might be difficult since last years' data suggests that closing ranks for OBG in well-established colleges are much higher.
