SASTRA university is a better choice as it has a better nirf ranking which ensures that it provides better educational facilities than other universities in the area. But this does not gurantee that Periyar Maniammai University would be a lesser good. Both universities have their pros and cons.

A B.Tech degree in the field of Aerospace, Civil, and Artificial intelligence is famous from Periyar Maniammai University.
But for a student I would advise that you not only look at the University's data of field prefernce but also to understand what you as a student hold an interest into and choose your desired course.

The entrance exam is based upon the JEE main exam and the entrance exam of thus university. About 20 percent Sat's are fulfilled by the JEE exam and 60 percent are fulfilled by the entrance exam of this university. You have to score 95 to 97 percentile to get the seat in this college through JEE main and if you want admission through entrance exam of this university then you have to score at least 105 marks put of 200 and if you score 135 marks out of 200 then you can get good B.Tech stream .

The fees is different for different courses . For B.Tech courses the fees is around 75000 per sem and for MBA course it is 2 Lacs per sem and for MBA finance and MBA banking it is 2.25 Lacs per sem .
Life sciences courses the fees is 25000 to 50000 per sem and other courses or Diploma courses the fees is around 60 to 80 thousand per sem. The fees for architecture is 1.25 Lacs per sem.
