Not compulsory but you can take admission by JEE marks almost 40 percent seats for b tech courses are fulfilled by JEE exam score and 60 percent seats areful filled by thier own entrance test exam mode.
So if you score good marks around 120 out of 200 in thus university entrance exam so you can get the sear and for JEE exam it is around 95 to 97 percentile.

The fees is different for different courses B.Tech courses 1lakh 40000 per year and security money at the time of admission is 10000 rs.
For MBA courses the fees is 2 Lacs per year and security. Money is 20000 .
For other courses such as bsc in pcm or pcb is 50000 per year.
For B.Sc in agriculture is around 80000 per year and security fees is 10000 rs.
For barchar courses it is around 1 Lacs 90000 per year .
For animation courses the Diploma courses in animation fees is around 1lakh 20000 per year.
For biotech courses B.Sc biotechnology or other life Science course the fees is around 90000 per year.

Periyar University accepts the JEE Mains score for B.Tech admission and this university conducts its own exam also few seats are for JEE Mains exam and remaining from thier entrance exam score is considered.
For MBA exam CAT score, MAT score is considered and periyar MBA entrance exam score is considered for remaining seats.
For other courses periyar annmai University joint entrance exam test score is considered.

I think the answer is no because both universities are private university and both are good university as far as curriculum is concerned so both the universities charges almost tge same amount of fees for thier subjects.
As far as btech courses is concerned periyar University charges 70000 per sem and sastra also acharges 72000 per sem which is not a big difference and devplment fees and hostel fees is almost same approximately 20000 per year .
As far MBA is concerned sastra charges 1 Lacs per se. Where periyar charge 80000 per sem so here periyar is less expensive than sastra university.

Yes you can easily join this university with 70 percent marks the most important criteria is to get pcm and secure at least 65 percent to get the admission in this university the next criteria is to qualify the JEE Mains exam to get the admission or you can go for the admission test of this university if you qualify any one of the exams then you will get the admission after securing at least 65 percent marks in pcm or pcb for life sciences courses.

As per the NIRF report 2023, 9 out of 20 MArch graduates were successfully placed during 2022 placements. Earlier, 8 out of 12 MArch students were placed in top companies during 2021 placements. From 2020 to 2022, year-on-year growth was observed in the MArch students placed. Take a look at the below table to know the exact numbers:
