Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology offers merit-based as well as entrance-based admission. The college accepts entrance exam score such as JEE Main/ PMIST Entrance Examination for taking admission in BTech. For BArch admission, JEE Main/ NATA scores are considered.

Candidates can take direct admission at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology depending upon the course. Admission is based on merit in Class 12, particularly for Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. While BTech and MArch requires entrance exam scores such as JEE Main/PMIST Entrance/NATA etc.

According to the fees structure of both the colleges for pursuing Bachelor's in Business Administration BBA Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology is more affordable than MKU DDE, because the fees for pursuing Bachelor's in Business Administration BBA at MKU DDE which is a 4year course is INR 1.5lakh whereas for pursuing BBA at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology is INR 51k.

Both Bharathiar University Distance Education and Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology are good options to pursue an MBA. However, in terms of affordability, Bharathiar University Distance Education is more affordable since the tuition fee to pursue an MBA at Bharathiar University Distance Education is INR 21,100, and the tuition fee to pursue an MBA at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology is INR 1.3 lakh.

PMIST Thanjavur cutoff 2024 is 45% marks in 10 + 2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical as a vocational subject. 45% of the seats will be allotted based on the normalised PMIST Thanjavur cut off based on the marks obtained in 10 + 2.
