JNU students pursuing PhD courses have a maximum duration of four years irrespective of whether it is done full-time or part-time. Various fields are covered under The PhD programs including but not limited to Ancient History, African Studies, Arabic and many other specializations. A master’s degree with at least 50% marks is required for eligibility. Selection involves taking a computer-based test and then a viva voce exam. DYPBBI selects candidates for PhD based on entrance test conducted by DY Patil Vidyapeeth. The university conducts All India Proctor Based Entrance Test for admission to PhD. The exam is usually conducted in the Second Week of July. The test consists of two papers. Selected candidates are further called for a personal interview round for final selection.
